Taxes

We do not have a revenue problem; we have a spending problem. Federal tax revenues are more than adequate to responsibly fund every necessary function of government. To reduce the presence of government in our lives, we must reduce its funding.

As your Congressman, I will:

  • Work to simplify and streamline the tax code to make it simpler for you to fill out your tax returns.
  • Work to establish ethical tax incentives that make sense, and to eliminate tax breaks that are either unethical or inconsistent with common sense, the principles of capitalism, and sound fiscal policy.
  • Work to reduce corporate taxes so American companies can compete globally and keep American jobs in America.
  • Work to repeal Capital Gains taxes and other forms of double-taxation and unfair taxes, such as the Death Tax and Marriage Penalty, so you can keep more of your hard-earned money, and invest or spend it as you see fit and not as government chooses.
  • Support replacing the Federal Income Tax with a sensible tax system that ensures that all but those below the federal poverty level pay towards the operations of our government.
